I don't really think it's inspirational,, BUT! i use to work with a special needs program at school. We just helped them do their daily routines, learn in school, signed with them, took them on field trips, and we took them to get their lunches, took them to the bus, read to them, played games, talked with them, and just hung out with them. It was super fun and those kids were the sweetest kids i have ever met. I also use to babysit for this one family who had a special needs child and it was really good for them because they were able to go out and spend time with each other as a couple which is difficult to do because being a parent is a full time job being a parent of a special needs child is overtime. One thing i learned is if they aren't babies don't treat or talk to them like they are babies. People tend to use those high pitch cheerful sweet tones with special needs kids. that is not okay. they deserve the respect to be talked to as a person. I learned a lot of things from these kids. I learned a lot of patience and i became more open to helping people who were different from me. i will admit i was intimidated by some of the kids at first but that was just because it was so different from anything i had experienced But truly they are the most sweet spirited kids in the world. and you will learn and grow with them in ways you could never do with a kid who is not. It is a great experience to be able to work with such amazing people. (:
